Chilean salmon industry associations will sit down with authorities this week to discuss what, if anything, can be done to prevent further armed attacks on plants, workers and equipment.

It follows Thursday's attack on a salmon smolt facility owned by Norway's Cermaq Group when armed intruders set fire to buildings.

The facility, located near the city of Temuco in Chile's ninth region, is being leased and operated by Chilean producer Salmones Yadran.
