The Norwegian-backed closed-containment salmon farming project in Maine, known as American Aquafarms, is not seeing any slowdowns so far from the pandemic, according to the company's CEO.

"We are focused on building up the Maine team," Mikael Rones, who is also the head of the Norway-based investment fund Global AS, told IntraFish of the company's plans for the project.

Rones, who founded cod farming operation Norcod, which just started harvesting fish in December, founded American Aquafarms in 2019.
