Russia’s fishery agency, Rosrybolovstvo, is working on implementing a large-scale state program for krill fishing in Antarctica, that will start in the coming three to five years.

Late last year, the Russian fishery research vessel Atlantis explored krill stocks in Antarctica, for the first time after a 17-year hiatus.

According to the scientific estimates, krill biomass in the area is now higher than 17 years ago.
