Harvesting giant Russian Fishery Company (RFC) took delivery of its new 100-meter supertrawler last week, a breakthrough for the Russian pollock fleet.

Tersan shipyard in Turkey handed over the Vladimir Limanov, the first in a series of 11 vessels based on the ST-192 RFC project by Skipsteknisk of Norway.

The cost of the construction of the new vessel amounts to around €80 million ($89 million), a source told IntraFish.

“With the commissioning of the new supertrawler, Russian Fishery will move to a new stage of efficiency improvement,” said RFC Chairman Gleb Frank.
