Nutreco, one of the world's largest animal nutrition and aquafeed firms, took another step into the land-based aquaculture world with an increased stake in a land-based salmon farming operation in China.

Nordic Aqua Partners (NAP), which Nutreco already held a stake in, successfully completed a private placement of new shares this week, raising €55.1 million ($65.4 million) for its project in Ningbo.

NAP is just the latest investment by the €6.4 billion ($7.6 billion) Dutch feed giant, and it's not likely to be its last in land-based aquaculture, CIO Viggo Halseth told IntraFish.
