The Good Food Institute (GFI) and World Sustainability Organization (WSO) are partnering on a certification program for plant-based seafood as part of the Friend of the Sea sustainable seafood certification scheme.

The program was launched in response to an uptick in plant-based food sales during the coronavirus pandemic.

The "Golden Standard" will help plant-based seafood firms certify their products according to WSO's existing agricultural standards, assuring consumers products were produced "without harming the environment," WSO Founder and Director Paolo Bray said.
