The owner of UK whitefish processing giant Young's Seafood is acquiring German pollock producer Greenland Seafood for an undisclosed amount, the company confirmed to IntraFish.
On Friday, Eight Fifty Food Group, the owner of Young's Seafood, itself controlled by CapVest Partners, announced the acquisition of Hamburg-headquartered AliSa International GmbH, trading as Greenland Seafood.
Greenland is one of mainland Europe’s largest producers of frozen seafood products and employs approximately 600 people across its two manufacturing sites in France and Germany.
