Even the world’s largest seafood company, Japan’s Maruha Nichiro, is facing problems brought about by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

But as it approaches its 140 th birthday, the company’s new president and CEO, Masaru Ikemi, is confident the company has the “DNA to overcome any difficulties” and will come out stronger the other side.

When Ikemi took over the role of CEO five months ago “the situation turned upside down,” he told The Suisan Times.
