Land-based salmon farming could provide a "meaningful" slice of production by 2030 Pareto Securities analyst Carl-Emil Kjolaas Johannessen said during IntraFish's land-based webinar, during which experts answered the big questions on why and how land-based salmon farming will succeed.

"I think land-based salmon farming is definitely here to stay," Johannessen said.

But getting projects off the ground is likely to be a gradual process because it takes four to five years from the planning stage or even longer when taking into account permits and authorizations to start building.
