Spanish seafood processor and surimi producer Angulas Aguinaga plans to use the distribution links of Italian smoked salmon and seafood supplier Riunione to gain wider market access as part of its strategy to transform the company into a multinational food processing business.

Angulas Aguinaga acquired a major stake in Riunione in January.

"We did not buy it for the product but for the ability to harness our business model to its distribution channels," Angulas Aguinaga CEO Ignacio Munoz said in an interview posted on his company's Linkedin page.
