The expectation that Peruvian fishing vessels will complete their full 2.41 million metric tons quota for the first season in north central waters has gone down well with fishing firms and analysts alike.

By July 21 Peruvian anchovy vessels had harvested 2.33 million metric tons, or 96.7 percent of their quota, but during a Wednesday press conference Cayetana Aljovin, president of industry organization the National Fisheries Society (SNP), said the full allocation will be reached in the coming days.
