Salmones de Chile has been fined 12.6 million pesos (€13,977/$15,974) after Chile's supreme court quashed an earlier judgment acquitting the company of selling illegal consignments of fishmeal.
The case dates back to 2015, when in warehouses belonging to the PROSESA company, Sernapesca inspectors discovered 919 metric tons of fishmeal and 438 metric tons of fish oil without documentation to prove its legal origin.
