Norway Royal Salmon suspects an infectious salmon anemia (ISA) outbreak in one of its key operating areas where 2.3 million fish are currently being farmed.

The average weight of the fish in the company's farms in Donnesfjord -- consisting of the sites Naeringsbukta, Klubben and Borfjord -- is 3.3 kilos, for a total biomass of 7,590 metric tons.

NRS is awaiting the result of testing at an external analysis company for a final confirmation of the presence of the disease and until then is unable to estimate possible consequences, the company said in a stock exchange announcement Monday.
