Coronavirus lockdowns have forced stuck-at-home Britons to rethink their relationship with deep freezers, good news for the future of frozen seafood giants such as Birds Eye.

"Freezer space has always been a limiting factor because unlike ambient food, you're limited by the size of your freezer," Birds Eye UK General Manager Steve Challouma said during IntraFish's Digital Whitefish Panel.

"All of a sudden there's going to be an ongoing increase in the amount of freezer capacity at home," he said, said citing a 68 percent surge in the sale of freezers for home use.
