Nordlak's giant offshore salmon farm arrived successfully in Norway on June 13, but its permanent location is still up for debate as the company awaits certain approvals from the local municipality.

While Havfarm 1 is safely located in Hadselfjorden, the question of approval of placement for Nordlaks' second Havfarm is more unclear.

The area outside Tranoy in Hamaroy municipality, where Nordlaks wants Havfarm 2 to be located, is not currently regulated for aquaculture.

Nordlaks is therefore in the process of developing an area regulation plan.
