Dutch seafood giant Cornelis Vrolijk bought a stake in shrimp processor Garnalenpelcentrum Kant (GPC) as it beefs up shrimp peeling by machine.

"This collaboration enables us to offer consumers an excellent alternative to the hand-peeled shrimps from abroad," Cornelis Vrolijk Director Annerieke Vrolijk said.

"Machine peeling of shrimps leads to a significant reduction in CO2, in line with Cornelis Vrolijk’s vision of corporate social responsibility."
