US-based retail behemoth Walmart is committing to sourcing its entire shelf-stable tuna assortment from either a Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified fishery or from a time-bound Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) by 2025.

Beginning in July, Walmart's US will be stocked with canned tuna from either a MSC-certified fishery or from a FIP actively working toward certification. The retail chain expects to do the same for all of its shelf-stable tuna assortment by 2025.
