Seattle-based Aleutian Spray Fisheries reached an agreement with Alaska Community Development Quota (CDQ) group Aleutian Pribilof Island Community Development Association (APICDA) to merge its Pacific cod vessels and form a new group, the Aleutian Longline Company, a source close to the deal told IntraFish.

Under the terms of the deal, Aleutian Spray will merge its Pacific cod freezer longline vessels, the 132-foot Siberian Sea and the 161-foot U.S. Liberator, together APICDA's two vessels Arctic Prowler and Ocean Prowler. Combined, the group will control around 23 percent of the overall Pacific cod quota in the Bering Sea.
