Seattle-based harvesting and processing giant Trident Seafoods on Tuesday announced it will not operate its processing facilities in False Pass, Alaska, citing market uncertainties cause by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The operation, False Pass Seafoods, is situated on Unimak island in Southwest Alaska, processing salmon primarily into headed and gutted (H&G) formats.

Peter Pan Seafoods, which is for sale by owners Maruha Nichiro, will be custom processing for Trident in Port Moller, Alaska, a source told IntraFish.
