As Peru takes measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus, China Fishery Group has been forced to stopped operations in the country, William Brandt, Jr., Chapter 11 trustee for the beleaguered company, informed a New York bankruptcy court.

This includes both the operating of processing factories and vessels, according to the March 19 filing.

This comes as Peru President Martin Vizcarra announced a nationwide lockdown on March 15 as coronavirus cases reached new highs around the world.

On March 16, the Chapter 11 trustee was informed that all businesses in Peru must be forced to close, that the fishing season that was due to begin around April 1 is canceled, and employees are to stay at home.
