Norwegian farmed salmon prices have reached sky-high levels, causing buyers to go to frozen inventory and even Chilean supply to avoid the pinch, sources told IntraFish.
"I am not really excited because prices are so high that we're not buying now," the source said.
Land-based salmon projects received the largest grants in 2019
Prices have never been so high at this time of year, a Norwegian exporter told IntraFish.
"It's violent -- the price is too high, but we have no choice if we are to buy from the farmers," he said.
