Rabobank analysts are downbeat on the fishmeal price outlook until at least mid 2020, following the announcement of a 33 percent increase in quota for Peru's second north central zone season.

The quota is set at just under 2.79 million metric tons for Peru's second anchovy season in the north central zone, which begins Nov. 16

The scope of the increase surprised industry observers.

"In one way it's a testament to how the science and legislation works," Rabobank analyst Gorjan Nikolik told IntraFish.
