"In Iceland, we have a history and record of delivering fresh, high-quality cod to Europe. That is our reputation, and I want to focus on what we do right," Brim CEO Gudmundur Kristjansson told IntraFish, on the Icelandic company's strategic decision to focus on Atlantic cod.

Brim recently entered an agreement for the acquisition of Fiskvinnslan Kambur and Grabrok in Hafnarfjordur, for ISK 2.3 billion (€16.5 million/$18.4 million) and ISK 772 million (€5.5 million/$6.2 million), respectively.

Kambur is a fish processing company that handles roughly 2,000 metric tons, while Grabrok is a fishing company that handles 850 metric tons of longline cod.
