Russian Fishery Company inked a deal with fisheries agency Rosrybolovstvo securing quotas for the construction of new trawlers and a coastal plant.

The company, which has six trawlers currently under construction, also launched a whitefish processing plant, Russian Cod, in partnership with frozen food distributor Agama Group, and started the construction of a second processing plant, Russian Haddock, with Agama, in August.

According to the new agreement, the company will build a third processing plant and four additional trawlers under the government’s quota program aimed at incentivizing companies to build locally.
