Communications that reveal a more intimate glimpse into the long-awaited criminal trial for embattled former Bumble Bee CEO Chris Lischewski's involvement in price-fixing tuna on the US market will be used as evidence against him by the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

A US district judge in northern California overseeing Lischewski's trial granted the DOJ use of the communications on Aug. 29.

The judge is allowing the DOJ to use as evidence the communications between former Bumble Bee Senior Vice President Walter Scott Cameron -- who plead guilty to his role in the conspiracy and has agreed to pay a criminal fine -- and Lischewski.
