Brazilian shrimp producer Camanor expects to finish housing all of its ponds under greenhouses in the northeastern state of Rio Grande do Norte in October, a top official at the firm told IntraFish.

Camanor is covering ponds stretching over 20 hectares at the site at an investment of BRL 16 million (€3.6 million $4 million), supported by Thai agro-industrial giant Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), which took a 40 percent stake in the Camanor in April last year.

Greenhouses are being installed to keep year-round temperatures at about 29 degrees Celsius.
