Glacier Fish Company's plans to relocate its headquarters and Alaska pollock fleet to the Port of Everett, north of Seattle, were dashed Tuesday evening during a public meeting that attracted a standing-room-only crowd.

During the two-hour meeting, the Port Commission unanimously approved moving forward with its plans to condemn the former Kimberly-Clark’s paper mill site, with the aim to acquire up to 67 acres through eminent domain.

Glacier's plans also called for the creation of a marine industrial park in support of the North Pacific fleet, according to its CEO Jim Johnson.
