Land-based Arctic charr producer Matorka is aiming to raise production at its Icelandic site to 6,000 metric tons of Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certified products by 2022 at the earliest.

This comes after the company completed an expansion to 3,000 metric tons with the help of $8 million (€7.1 million) in equity funding last year.

The Kopavogur-based company has been ramping up production over the past two years from 200 metric tons in 2017 and expects to produce 1,500 metric tons this year.
