EU salmon processors and smokers are not at all surprised EU competition authorities are looking into allegations of price fixing by Norwegian salmon suppliers, but most remain skeptical the investigations will amount to anything.
Thomas Farstad, CEO of processing group Millarex, told IntraFish that while he doesn't think there is any price fixing, the commission looking into the sector is not a surprise.
"There were dumping allegations and investigations nearly 20 years ago with the commission heavily involved," he said.
