It has long been accepted that the Norwegian salmon farming sector is the most advanced, most professionalized segment of the diverse seafood production industry.

The technology it employs -- recirculating aquaculture systems, automated feeding and monitoring, vaccines and top-notch nutrition -- has sent it speeding down a lucrative path, enabling it to don an Italian-tailored suit and step forward as the most investment-friendly segment of the industry.

But how long Norway can sit atop this pedestal is an interesting question.
