The Dutch competition authority -- Autoriteit Consument & Markt (ACM) -- is giving its go-ahead for Klaas Puul's takeover of salmon smoker Foppen.

The decision was made on July 10 and ACM said "sufficient competition" is ensured after the merger of the two companies.

Shrimp giant Klaas Puul and Costco salmon supplier Foppen, one of Europe's biggest salmon processors, announced the deal in June.

The new entity will operate under the name Dutch Seafood Company and boast a combined turnover of €310 million ($365.6
