After months of due diligence, it was announced Wednesday that Tesco meat supplier, Hilton Food Group acquired Grimsby-based Icelandic Seachill for £80.8 million (€90.5 million/$106.5 million), due to complete on Nov. 7.
It was first revealed Hilton was in talks to potentially acquire the owner of The Saucy Fish Co. in early August.
“There is a huge amount of strength in both businesses, and I genuinely think 1 and 1 is going to equal a significantly bigger number here,” Seachill CEO Simon Smith told IntraFish.
