It's too soon to tell how large of an impact the new Canada and Europe Trade Agreement (CETA) will have on seafood exports, but those in the Canadian seafood sector feel live lobster may see a boost later this year, and over the long term, processed lobster products could also benefit.
The European Parliament ratified CETA earlier this year and tariff reductions went into effect last month for certain products such as live lobster. Other products will see tariff cuts over the next three to seven years.
