Welcome to the IntraFish Podcast, episode No. 13.

In this episode, Editorial Director Drew Cherry, Executive Editor John Fiorillo and Reporter Kim Tran discuss Cooke Aquaculture's recent farmed salmon escape, the first commercial sale of genetically modified (GM) salmon in Canada, and controversial new seafood import rules in the United States.

Cooke Aquaculture's farm broke open Aug. 19, allowing more than 300,000 farmed salmon to escape into waters off Washington state, fueling concerns from green groups and government officials that the escaped farmed salmon could pose a threat to native Pacific salmon populations.
