Mowi, the world's largest salmon farmer, has announced the completion of its purchase of Icelandic salmon farmer Arctic Fish. SalMar has confirmed the transfer of the shares from its ownership.

The stock exchange announcement issued Thursday follows news last week that the European Commission had granted approval for the deal to go through.

Mowi said in October it reached an agreement to acquire 51.3 percent of the shares in Arctic Fish from Norwegian salmon giant SalMar as part of a deal clearing the way for the latter's merger with NTS.
