Seafood heavyweight Thai Union's pet food division i-Tail will establish two new companies in China and the Netherlands.
The company announced Friday it has received approval to establish i-Tail Shanghai and i-Tail Europe.
The two businesses aim to expand and sell pet food and pet-related products by focusing on the private label market. The European business will focus on the Netherlands, Germany, France and the UK markets, and will also seek to access regional brands in Europe.
Last month, Thai Union announced it would spin off its pet food division and list the group on the Bangkok stock exchange.
