Alaska-based salmon processor Northline Seafoods on Wednesday announced it is launching a new project to build what it is calling "the most sustainable and efficient mobile commercial salmon processing platform" for use in Bristol Bay, home of the world's largest wild salmon run.

The company said construction of the massive vessel -- named Hannah -- is planned for the Port of Bellingham, Washington, in January 2023. Northline plans to participate in the 2024 Bristol Bay salmon fishing season with the floating processor, Northline CEO Ben Blakey told IntraFish.
