A Danish seafood company backed in part by an affiliate of salmon and whitefish giant Leroy Seafood has entered bankruptcy.
Hvide Sande-based Vestfisk company is majority owned by CEO Henrik Schack Nielsen. A significant minority shareholder includes Danish seafood company Thorfisk, which in turn is owned by Leroy-backed Seafood Denmark.
A fire last year at land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire's Danish facility, which had a partnership with Vestfisk, contributed to the company's downfall, he told local media.
