Through October, the United Kingdom has imported its highest volume of frozen whole cod from Norway in six years, as the impact of the country's sanctions on Russian whitefish start to show.

According to the latest figures from the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC), Norway has exported 8,000 metric tons of frozen whole cod to Great Britain through October.

The figure is 2,400 metric tons, or 43 percent, more than last year and is the highest export volume of frozen whole cod to the UK since 2016.
