As effective as traditional netpen farming has been over the past couple of decades, it is becoming increasingly clear that the salmon farming industry will look radically different in the coming years -- perhaps even sooner than we may all expect.

A convergence of factors will force its hand, and while Norwegian politics would seem to be the biggest force reshaping the industry right now, warming waters are a far greater threat.

This is no longer an "existential" or "theoretical" risk.
