It took seven years for the Kingfish Company's Ohad Maiman to turn what started out as a PowerPoint presentation into a fully-permitted, large-scale land-based yellowtail farm in Maine.

The achievement is no small feat given Maine residents' mixed feelings regarding land-based salmon farming. The project itself has proven to stand out from others by also receiving major support from the community where it is based in a state where local opinion has taken down competitor's proposals --American Aquafarms being the most recent victim.
