The production of sustainable feed ingredients should be able to keep pace with Ecuador's astonishingly rapid growth in shrimp production, Allan Cooper, business and value creation director at South America feed producer Vitapro, told those gathered this week at the 60th annual IFFO international marine ingredients conference in Lima, Peru.
"There is no reason why marine ingredients wouldn't be able to sustainably accompany this growth," he said.
Cooper concedes, however, that there is still much work to do on best practices, not just for marine ingredients but also along the whole supply chain.
