The supply of wild whitefish in 2023 is projected to hold stable next year, though there are expected to be some significant shifts in Atlantic species, according to figures released at the Groundfish Forum in Seattle on Wednesday.
Executives from Seattle harvester and processor Trident Seafoods and Denmark-based processor Espersen presented the figures at the 29th Groundfish Forum, which projected an overall global whitefish harvest of 6.92 million metric tons -- a less than 1 percent decline from the estimated overall catch last year.
