Norway-based salmon farming group Grieg Seafood has hired Jennifer Woodland as its new managing director for its British Columbia operations.
The move comes at a tumultuous time for BC salmon farmers as the province moves forward with plans to transition away from open netpen farming to raising salmon in land-based facilities.
Woodland joins the company after serving as CEO for four years of Nu-chah-nulth Seafood, a Canadian Indigenous-owned company that provides business development support for aquaculture businesses in the Indigenous communities of Vancouver Island.
