Russia may push for higher cod quota, but won't likely 'torpedo' fisheries talks with Norway, researcher says

More than 90% of the fish from Russian fishing vessels are landed in ports that are still open to Russian boats.

'We must do our best to retain the good capacity for pragmatism that both parties have shown in difficult situations before. The cod stock is important for both parties,' said Anne-Kristin Jorgensen, a senior researcher at the Fridtjof Nansen Institute.
