The average price for a pack of fish fingers at German retail has climbed around 45 percent since January as general inflation in the country accelerated to a 40-year high of 8.8 percent in the year to August.

Prices for 450-gram packs of private label fish fingers (called fischstäbchen in German) have increased 45 percent from a long-established price level of around €1.99 ($2) in January to around €2.89 ($2.90) in July, a source told IntraFish.
