UK Fisheries, the owner and operator of the UK's last distant-water whitefish trawler Kirkella -- is once again calling on the restoration of pre-Brexit fishing opportunities for the UK fleet, citing the failure of the government to deliver on its promises.

Despite “spin” from the government that negotiations over fishing opportunities have been a success for the UK, in reality the UK has seen quotas slashed in half and secured a fraction of the opportunities it would have received when it was in the European Union, Jane Sandell, CEO of UK Fisheries, told IntraFish.
