Following its acquisition by Alaska Native Corporation Sealaska in late 2020, New England Seafood International Limited (NESI), is back in expansion mode, with longtime chief executive Dan Aherne overseeing the group’s global fish business growth plans.
For the past few years Aherne has been performing a “very hands-on role” as the NESI’s CEO and managing director.
However, with the bigger ambitions that came with Sealaska’s acquisition of NESI – and subsequent acquisitions of Icelandic whitefish suppliers IceMar and AG Seafood -- Aherne will now take on the wider role as group CEO of Sealaska’s global fish business.
