After a "brutal" correction in Norwegian salmon prices last week, prices are continuing to fall amid wider availability and slower summer seasonal demand.

One salmon exporter summed it up best: "It has been a tough week."

For most weight classes, the price drop of around NOK 15 (€1.47/$1.51)/kg is about the same as the decline last Friday, market sources told IntraFish.

The exporter said that with additional product on the market, buyers are ready for some payback.

"[They] have lived half a year with very high prices, and are trying very hard to get it down now that they see that a little more fish is being processed," the exporter said.
