'Although we are small nation, we do make a difference to the world': Royal Greenland's new 45-year-old chair has a story to tell, and big challenges ahead

When Maliina Abelsen took over as the chair of Royal Greenland in May, it marked two significant firsts.

For one, Abelsen became the first female chair in the group's 250-year history. That in and of itself is an accomplishment.

But Abelsen set another high water mark: At 45, she is one of the youngest people to hold a chairman role at a major seafood company globally.

Serving as chair of a DKK 5.6 billion (€752.2 million/$764.8 million) company that employs 2,200 people is a challenge for anybody.
